Katie and her mom/co-creator Mary Wright performed Kitchen Chronicles at Touchstone Theatre in Bethlehem, PA from Feb. 10—20th, 2022. It was an absolute joy to get this project in front of audiences and the show was critically acclaimed and very warmly received!
“Personal theater such as this could not be brought off without actors of the highest intensity, expressiveness and performance…
Willmorth… is all angles and arches, her body often akimbo as she scurries and scrapes, and bends and stretches, a body in motion, and she tends to stay in motion, and emotion. Her wide eyes and rubbery face is transfixing. She has a Puckish presence and charm.
I loved this play. I loved the concept. I loved the dialogue. I loved the actors. I loved the love that Wright and Willmorth share with each other and allow the audience to share. “Kitchen Chronicles” is worthy of an off-Broadway production or touring production by Wright and Willmorth… This is world-class theater. Don’t miss it.” —Paul Willistein, Lehigh Valley Press
I am so excited to return to one of the places I grew up to perform the role of Caroline in I and You by Lauren Gunderson at Boise Contemporary Theater! We begin rehearsals on September 20th, and performances run from Oct. 13th — Nov. 6th. I’m so overwhelmed by the opportunity to be back in a rehearsal room working on a life-affirming play as BCT reopens their doors to their audience.

A program from a recent version of Kitchen Chronicles, the basis for a new play being co-created by Katie and her mother, Mary Wright!
Katie is currently in process, writing and co-creating a new theater piece with her mom, storyteller and theater artist Mary Wright. Based on earlier story gathering and a one-woman show written and performed by Mary, the two are expanding her project into a 2-person show. Their version of Kitchen Chronicles is scheduled to be performed at Touchstone Theater in Bethlehem, PA in February of 2022. Mary and Katie were selected to continue development of the piece at the 2021 Fresh Ground Pepper BRB Retreat this August!
Katie will play Juliet in Romeo & Juliet for Smith Street Stage as their 10th Anniversary Shakespeare in Carroll Park production. Performances are June 12th—June 30th in Carroll Park, Brooklyn, NY.

Read this article about our work in the schools! Below is an excerpt:
Katie Willmorth, a Shakespeare Festival cast member, was enthusiastic about what live theater offers young people. “In our culture today,” she said, “people are told Shakespeare will be hard to understand and when you tell someone that, that it’s inaccessible, they will see it that way.”
“If we do our job, they will understand (the play) better than they thought ... rather than approach it with apprehension or fear,” she added.

Katie Willmorth gives an especially noteworthy performance as the Duke of Buckingham, who is Richard's chief co-conspirator.
She's riveting as a tough girl who matches Richard in his skills as a smooth-talking politician.
